Lately I have been hearing a lot of people talking about the intense dreams they are having. It is different for everyone but there seems to be a general shift in peoples dreams. This came on suddenly when the COVID-19 pandemic was getting into full swing. I have heard of people dreaming so vividly and strangely that it has been disrupting their sleep.
A few have even had scary night terror dreams of being attacked.
I feel most people are chalking it up to the uncertain times and our brains processing everything that is going on. Also, being extra stressed dealing with everyday life changing overnight is playing a part.
I agree and do believe that our minds do process our daily lives through dreaming. Having a major disruption in our otherwise predicable lives does weigh heavily on our sleeping state.
However, I think it is more than that. When we go to sleep our bodies sleep but our subconscious (soul, higher self) doesn’t. So it begs the question, well what does it do all night? There are many theories and one is that a part of you taps into the collective consciousness, that it kind of explores what is going on at a grander level.
This would make sense for people to have wacky dreams at a time like a pandemic where the collective energy is all over the place.
I don’t want to get too far out there trying to explain why people are having more intense and vivid dreams. The theories are endless. What really goes on when our bodies go to sleep really comes down to personal interpretation and beliefs. I just wanted to touch on a theory I find interesting and makes sense to me.
Since I am a solutions driven kinda gal, I would like to talk about what you can do about it.
Sleep is so precious and vital to our wellness. To have dreams that disrupt your sleep is less than ideal.
Before I go into how to cope with these intense dreams I would like to share my dream story.
I have always been a vivid dreamer. My dreams have at times been very intense, strange, and at times, violent. This has been my entire life. I remember how real and strange my dreams were even as a child.
Luckily, it wasn’t every single night. Well, my dreams were always very vivid but not always scary and disruptive. It also seemed the intensity of my dreams were kind of like an ebb and flow.
I always chalked it up to my over active mind or what was going on in my life.
Regardless of the cause, the simple fact that my dreams were disrupting my sleep remained.
A few months ago I was watching a video of someones spiritual night routine and he talked about putting up a protective energetic grid before going to sleep.
This peeked my interest. He didn’t refer to dreams. He talked about it for protection against dark energies that try to prey on you at night. Now, at that time I really didn’t believe that but something about it resonated with me.
So, I decided to give it a try.
After the first night I noticed such a difference! I just thought it might be coincidence so I continued to do it.
It continued to work! My dreams were like night and day.
Don’t get me wrong, my dreams aren’t all sunshines and rainbows, but they are way less intense and almost never scary. Most importantly they no longer disrupt my sleep.
They are still a little strange but I think that is the nature of dreaming.
if you would like to experiment with this here’s how. Ask the universe, archangel Michael, or your higher self, which ever you prefer, to put up a protective energetic grid around you. Close your eyes and imagine a green sphere of light that goes around you and your bed. Completely around, below, above, behind and in front.
Next, set intentions for your dreams. I like to intend to have pleasant dreams, to remember any messages that come though and to enjoy my dreams.
That is it! you are now ready for a restful nights sleep.
This is important to do every night. I notice a dramatic difference when I forget to do it. My dreams go right back to being absolutely insane and disrupting.
I don’t think the why of crazy dreams is as important of what to do about it.
Also, you can double or triple up on the grid if you are feeling like you need it. Just ask for the grid to be double or triple enforced. I do this when I feel a little scared or nervous before bed.
If you have been struggling with intense, vivid, and disrupting dreams I encourage you to give this a try!
Please let me know if it works for you! And share this with anyone who might be able to use this tactic.
Stay well my friends! Sweet dreams!
